Ben Tennyson is the star of the Ben 10 cartoon show broadcast on Cartoon Network. Children get to watch this normal 10 year old do things like they do, such as play video games, ride his bike or get into trouble. But one day when Ben goes camping with his Grandpa Max, he comes across the ‘Omnitrix’. This is an alien watch that enables him to change into alien life forms and from that moment on he is a superhero.  He has to fight the baddies from other alien worlds such as Vilgax.

Ben is a good hearted kid although he can be a sore loser when his cousin Gwen outdoes him. He would do anything to protect those in trouble or danger and is very resourceful when trying to achieve these aims. Children look up to him and want to lose themselves in his alien world. They can do this through role play with one of the many Ben 10 toys available.

The Ben 10 cartoon has been around for a few years now and its popularity is not waning. As such Bandai have made a huge selection of action figures based around Ben and his other alien characters. At the start of 2009 a new raft of figures was released when the Ben 10 sequel called ‘Alien Force’ came out. This saw Ben having grown up to 15 years old and his Omnitrix and the aliens within had been updated too. A live action film called ‘Alien Swarm’ made on the back of the cartoon sequel has also brought another few Ben 10 figures to the toy shop shelves. These include characters such as Nanomech and Validus.

As well as the huge range of Ben 10 action figures, children can enjoy one of a few replicas of the Omnitrix, some video games and normal games and a whole heap of other Ben 10 branded merchandise from pyjamas to school stationery.
